COMMUNICATION SUPPORT SPONSOR

Deaf Children Australia inspires and empowers deaf and hard of hearing children and young people to reach their potential. We provide unbiased information and support to assist children, young people and their families to make their own informed decisions and achieve their goals and dreams.

Following a diagnosis through Newborn Hearing Screening, parents may have many questions about where to now, and what the future may hold for their child.

Deaf Children Australia (DCA) is available to help through our free services – the National Helpline and Information Services and our Parent to Parent Program and Life Stories Programs which are now available in Victoria as well as Queensland.

It can be reassuring to speak with another parent through the Parent to Parent Program who has travelled a similar path, and can provide unbiased information and support during this time.

DCA’s Life Stories Program can also offer great perspectives by providing the opportunity to meet adults who are deaf or hard of hearing. The positive role models share their life experiences and help families feel more confident about what the future may hold for their child. They offer encouragement and support, and increase awareness of some of the challenges and possibilities of living with deafness.
