NextSense enhances lives by working with people who have hearing and vision loss, providing customised services aimed at breaking down barriers for children and adults.
We are a recognised innovator in delivering best practice early intervention services and education for children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Our multidisciplinary team care model means we build a team around each child we support and draw on wide-ranging expertise, from audiologists, speech pathologists and ENT surgeons, to Teachers of the Deaf, family counsellors, and physiotherapists. We build family-centred partnerships that are inclusive and collaborative, offering parent education, group programs, school transition support and individualised care.
We pioneered cochlear implant service delivery in Australia and continue to lead the way in continuing care, managing Australia’s largest cochlear implant program. We are also a leader in remote service delivery, refining our approach over more than two decades and expanding our reach right across Australia for those who need us.
Through the NextSense Institute, we lead research in education and related service delivery for those with sensory disabilities, collaborating nationally and internationally. Our academic program is geared towards developing the next generation of leaders in sensory disability, through our postgraduate degree and a comprehensive continuing professional education program.
We’ve been advancing practice in the fields of both hearing and vision loss for more than 160 years.
